Here we conclude our showcase of us wrapping a 2013 VW Caddy. To see progress from the very beginning please be sure to check out part 1 and part 2 of our showcase.
Our client wanted some gloss black accents applied to the vehicle around the two front doors extending along the front wing and ending at the front headlight. The first picture below shows you how we prepare this particular area and the second picture shows the accents completed.
Knifeless tape and vinyl wraps
We are able to add pretty much any accents to a vehicle using this knifeless tape. It makes a perfect cut in the vinyl wrap. The cutting tape is carefully applied and the vinyl then goes over it. Then we simply pull the tape and it cuts cleanly and precicely through the vinyl wrap leaving the perfect line.
The tape can also be carefully manipulated into a curve too as you can see in the above picture with curvature around the top right and bottom right edges of the passenger door.
Looking at the image above you can see that the entire rear area has now also been completed.
How long will this wrap last?
This is another question that we receive frequently. The answer is that it depends on the type and style of vinyl wrap. The wrap that we used on this VW Caddy is made by KPMF and is guaranteed for 7 to 10 years so long as aftercare advice is followed. Some other wraps such as metallic will have a much shorter shelf life.
Below is a front and rear view of the VW Caddy once our client added on all of his external accessories. We think it looks fantastic!
