Here at LADZ Wrap N Tint in Cheltenham we are always excited to try new things, so when we spotted this Arlon Premium Colour Change Series vinyl we just had to give it a try on one of our technicians cars!
This Arlon Premium Colour Change Series vinyl wrap is available in many colours and we opted for Matt Aluminium Blue. The car we are vinyl wrapping is a VW Eos.
The entire Arlon Premium Colour Change Series can be found on their website right here.
The specification of the wrap film is that it is a PVC cast wrap with a 10 year durability. An invisible air channel liner creates a super smooth finish as you will be able to see from all the pictures in this special showcase.
The paintwork on the car was generally in a pretty good condition considering the age of the vehicle but there was some slight bubbling and rusting on the two front wings directly above the front wheels. In order to create the perfect finish for this vinyl wrap these needed to be adressed. So these were filled, sanded and primed. This was perfectly smoothed off as can be seen in the picture above.
Let the vinyl wrap begin!
With both the front wings sorted now we were able to get on with the actual wrap itself! We started on the bonnet and that can be seen in the image below.
Then we did the front left wing, notice how the wrap is perfect. This is why we need to make sure that all areas of the paintwork are perfect so we get perfect vinyl wrap adhesion to the vehicle.
Then it was on to one of the rear roof pillar and the upper door section of the retractable roof area.
That concludes day one of the vinyl wrap.
Day two of the vinyl wrap.
The first thing we did on day two was to wrap one of the rear quarters of the vehicle.
Swiftly on from that we wrapped the boot. This was a bit more trickier than other parts of the vehicle due to the curvature of the boot but as can be seen in the picture below it turned out lovely!
Then it was swiftly round to the front to do the front bumper. As seen in the image below there is still some tidying up of the area around the front fog lights to be done. Some areas of the vehicle are more trickier than others and this area is certainly one of them! Needless to say you need to have patience and determination but the results are amazing.
Day 3. The final day!
No rest for the wicked and going in to the final day we were up and at it early doors. The time required to wrap a vehicle varies but usually it will be completed within three to five days. Vinyl wrapping is an art form and it absolutely cannot be rushed, so it takes as long as it takes for us to be 100% satisfied.
First up was the two doors. The doors on the VW Eos are absolutely enourmous at 1.4 meters in length! But they turned out absolutely fine as can be seen in the two pictures below. The second picture shows the door handle and recess in great detail.
So now the majority of the vehicle has been wrapped. It is extremely satisfying to see the wrap nearing completion because until this happens it is quite difficult to appreciate just how much a vinyl wrap transforms a vehicle.
The two images below show the rear bumper coming together.
All that was remaining after the rear bumper was the sills, front window front strip and a few little odds-and-ends. Below is the completed car!
